Background of the British College of Integrative Medicine (BCIM)

BCIM was founded in 2007 in order to establish professional education in Integrative Medicine for healthcare professionals. Initially the College ran a Diploma in the Study of Integrative Medicine in academic collaboration with Professor Karol Sikora and Buckingham University. The first graduates were presented to HRH the Prince of Wales in 2012. BCIM is currently focussing on providing courses and trainings designed to meet the Continuing Professional Development needs of healthcare professionals.

Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Credits

Through the learning that you do with in our teacher’s Discovery and Training courses, quite simply one hour of study equals one CPD credit from the British College of Integrative Medicine (BCIM). You will receive certificates from credits as you complete your courses to add to your professional portfolo. These courses and credits are aimed at all healthcare professionals and the public wishing to broaden their understanding of the proactive approach to healthcare and self-help.

Qualifications

If you wish to pursue a career in Integrative Medicine, you can build a personalised course of study with the support of our team, and receive a Certificate in Integrative Medicine with 600 hours of core subject study and a Diploma in Integrative Medicine with 1200 hours of core and specialised study. These higher BCIM qualifications are aimed at doctors, nurses, pharmacists and therapists wishing to specialise in IM.
