What do we mean by positive health?

Positive health is the attainment of well-balanced physical and mental health and well-being through the adoption of healthy lifestyles that strengthen and nourish us at all levels of body, mind, spirit and environment.

It places emphasis on the proactive role of individuals in self-care and therapy that supports their physical and mental health and generates the highest quality of living and personal fulfilment. It has at its heart focus on bringing individuals into the right relationship with themselves, each other and the planet; catalysing conscious respectful, sustainable, harmonious living for all.

It is achieved by providing the correct information, education and support for individuals to live and work in settings that encourage responsible engagement their health and wellbeing, and by cultivating a mindset that moves people from reliance on passive healthcare into proactive health creation.

Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Credits

Through the learning that you do within our teachers’ Discovery and Training courses, quite simply one hour of study equals one CPD credit from the Health and Wellbeing Trust.

You will receive certificates for credits as you complete your courses to add to your professional portfolio. These courses and credits are aimed at all healthcare professionals as well as members of the public wishing to broaden their understanding of the proactive approach to healthcare and self-help.
